“A Thriving Business Starts With Happy Employees,” says entrepreneur Justin Strong

The small, family-run business feel is what makes Strong’s main business, Strong Bros.

GC Ltd.  stand-out from others. Having his employees feel respected and important is what means the most to this 32-year-old. You want your employees to have equal respect for you; you want them to be able to trust you. Make sure they feel and know the role they play in the success of the company.

Building the right environment and team is what will differentiate you from your competitors, and Strong knows this very well. Creating a safe and comfortable space for all is important. His goal within his numerous companies is to make the best in the industry want to work for/with him. From there, Strong is able to provide all clients with the best possible service and highest quality of product that they can possibly provide. It’s important to remember that your team will help lead you to victory.

As much as happy and respected employees build the dream team, so do happy clients, or potential clients, he explains. Having to turn down clients isn’t easy but sometimes it’s in the best interest of both employees and clients; honesty is always the way to go. When the business model doesn’t best suit them, be honest. Always have them leaving happy and keeping their best interest in mind, even if that means that it’s without you. The last thing you want is to cause too much stress by agreeing to something you know doesn’t fit either party’s best interest. Strong explains, “We know what we do best, and as much as we wish it’s the best fit, it’s not always the case.”

Don’t stop there! Never stop building and developing relationships. These days, Strong knows how important it is to continuously build client and employee connections. Listen, listen, and listen to people, to their ideas and suggestions. You see and hear from people every day, maybe not in person but social media is booming and a key marketing platform for any company. With the click of a few buttons, you can have text conversations to video chats. Go on live streams and you can ask for feedback and check your messages. You never know what kind of inspiration is out there; keep an open mind. There are many smart and innovative people with great ideas that could help take you and your business to the next level.

Tip: Scaling your business will make a huge difference. Don’t believe me? Try it out!

Strong (@iamjustinstrong) knows best when he says, “Scaling a business is often dependent on bringing together your people and making sure they see, understand and believe in your vision.”

Okay, now that you’ve got all that, the real question is, how do you assemble the best possible team? What exactly should you be looking for when hiring? Look no further, Strong has that all sorted out so that you don’t have to worry. Your business will only be as good as the people on your team; Strong can’t emphasize this enough. After years in the business, he’s learned that the more knowledgeable the staff, the more success your business will have. He continues to explain, “Paying a premium for the right people will always pay dividends. Two unqualified people can’t do half of what one qualified person can accomplish.” A different way of thinking isn’t always a bad thing and sometimes, it’s just what you need. Be diverse; people who think differently can ultimately aid in problem-solving in the future, rather than solely having like-minded individuals.

Remember, be a role model; be who you’d want your boss to be and treat others how you’d want to be treated. In the end, it will all be worth it. Teamwork makes the dream work and Justin Strong’s success story shows us just that. Follow Strong (@iamjustinstrong) on his continuous journey of success; it doesn’t end here. It’s only just the beginning.
