Lt. Col. Dan Rooney is a USAFR Fighter Pilot, PGA Professional, CEO/Founder of Folds of Honor, author of two books, golf course developer, motivational speaker, and host of Fox Nation show Fly Into The Wind. He is a distinguished graduate of the University of Kansas and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Rooney has received multiple decorations, including the Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Medal, Anti-terrorism Medal, Combat Readiness Medal, Air Expeditionary Medal, and Distinguished Service Medal. He has served on three combat tours, including Operation Northern Watch in 2002, Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2005, and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008.
Rooney continues to serve in the US Air Force as an aggressor pilot in the 301st Fighter Squadron at Eglin AFB in Destin, Florida. He has flown over 2800 hours of fighter jet flight time. Guard’s Distinguished Service Medal, the Air National Guard’s Directors Service Award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
