Dancing With the Stars’ Kameron Couch Gives Advice to Young Dancers

Most people would say that they look up to somebody in their lives, whether it’s a grandparent, sibling, friend, or even a boss or coworker. It’s human nature to be inspired by the actions, achievements, or philosophies of another person. For many young dancers out there today, Kameron Couch has become a role model for them at just 13 years old.

Don’t let the young age deceive you; Kameron has won national titles, competed in Dancing With the Stars, and currently takes jobs dancing and modeling in Los Angeles, California. Her success is beyond many people double or quadruple her age. With that being said, many young aspiring dancers see her work and aspire to achieve what she has in such a little amount of time.

When asked what Kameron wanted her audience to know, she said, “… Even though I do have some natural dance talent, I train very hard. Dance is not easy. You have to be very disciplined in your training, stretching, and what you eat. Most 13-year-olds are having sleepovers on the weekends while I’m either training, competing, working, or doing homework. I have given up a lot to follow my dreams.” After expressing some of the challenges she has faced along the way, Kameron comes back with some inspiration, saying, “Don’t give up. It’s easy to get discouraged… If you know in your heart this is what you want to do, then stay focused. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else or worry about what anyone else is doing… What is meant for you, will find you.”
