Several people across the world have now begun to realize that struggling people and nations need something much bigger and effective than charity. There is no denying there; charity is an act that people get into due to nudging of consciousness. The weak communities and the sufferers do not need this; they do not want people to help them just when an incident shakes up their heart, they do not require people to help only to show the world that they ‘care.’ What these people and countries need is an organization that understands the problems and helps them fight the root causes.
There are no hidden facts there; charity only provides temporary solutions to problems when what really the world needs is a long-term solution. Illiteracy, unemployment, low-quality health and hygiene, deteriorating academic structure, are a few problems that every charitable organization is addressing. There are other problems that even people living in well-established countries have to deal with.
A common issue all across the world is the lack of awareness of the importance of maintaining good dental health. Adding to this are the high costs of dental services. These are problems that none of the organizations are looking into. However, there is one company that not only realizes the need to spread awareness about how neglecting oral health can negatively impact one’s overall health but is also working to make dental services accessible.
Risas Dental & Braces initially founded as a one-clinic company by Dr. Nicolas Porter, now operates with 25 clinics. With its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, this dental services provider was established with an aim to make dental procedures and treatment accessible to all. While serving its purpose, this clinic also contributes significantly to the movement of spreading awareness.
A Dental Clinic Serving as a Philanthropic Organization
A philanthropic organization is one that dedicates its efforts to strengthening society by addressing the roots of the problems. The solutions and programs these organizations work on are not just confined to providing financial stability to people, but it works on providing holistic solutions that bring long-term benefits.
While most of these organizations are focused on societal issues, Risas Dental & Braces is a dental services provider that is focusing on an issue that is not considered as a problem. Not being able to afford dental treatments is an issue that leads to deteriorating overall health. No matter how efficiently one works out and how healthy a lifestyle they spend, if dental health is not taken care of, it will never let a person get ‘fully’ healthy.
To make dental care accessible to all, every year on Labor Day, the facility organizes an event called “Labor of Love Day.” On this day, the first hundred patients that arrive at any of the 25 clinics between 08:00 a.m. and 12 noon, receive free consultation and treatments.
As per the experts, visiting a dentist at least once a year is enough to keep dental health in check. With this event, Risas Dental & Braces, allows patients to get their oral health checked, absolutely free. Through this event, the company has given $5.5 million worth of free dental services.
The History and Expansion of the Clinic
Risas Dental & Braces was founded on September 3, 2011. The first clinic was set up in Phoenix, Arizona, which serves as the headquarter of the company at present. The clinic started operating on Labor Day, and on its first day, it offered free dental services to the patients who visited the facility.
Since that day, the clinic has been offering free dental treatments on Labor Day. Founded by Dr. Nicolas Porter, this clinic began expanding to other states, and today it operates across Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, and Texas, with 25 clinics.
The clinic was established with an aim to make dental services affordable and accessible to all. Starting with Dr. Nicolas, this clinic now has a team of 70 dental professionals and 700 supporting employees. Since the day it was founded, this clinic has offered services to more than 500,000 patients.
A Unique Approach
Risas Dental & Braces has taken a unique approach to serving the people. Dental services are costly, and a person with a moderate-income has to struggle to get access to quality dental care. The clinic is serving as a philanthropic organization that is working to address an issue that not many organizations have identified. Risas Dental & Braces is taking a step forward in making this world a better place!
