Popular Model Nancy Hernandez Shares Three Things Most Important to Her

The star strives to empower all women to be confident in themselves

Nancy Hernandez’s rise to social media stardom was unconventional, to say the least. In fact, it happened upon her by accident. Nancy was living a “regular” life as a Latina stay-at-home mother of two and devoted partner. She decided to pick up a side gig to earn some extra income modeling for a small boutique. What happened next turned Nancy’s life upside down.

A behind the scenes video of Nancy at her photoshoot for the small boutique went viral, and Nancy was reposted to some of the most popular accounts on Instagram. Overnight, her following went from a couple thousand to hundreds of thousands. Since then, she has continued to make viral content and is an icon in her respective industry. She now has 1.6 million followers on Instagram, more than 200,000 subscribers on YouTube and Twitter, and has had more than 5,000 people sign up for her exclusive content.

While Nancy is extremely grateful and proud of her wildly successful and unexpected career in social media, there are a few things she wants to be primarily known for, most of which don’t just include the photos she takes. Here are three things Nancy Hernandez deems most important in her career.

An Advocate for Women and Racial Equality

As a proud woman who is both curvy and Latina (of Guatemalan descent), Nancy has experienced first-hand the prejudice and unrealistic stereotypes that society can place on certain demographics. According to Nancy, when she is no longer here on planet earth, she wants to be known by her friends, family, and her fans as someone who inspired the future, and someone who was an advocate for women’s body positivity and racial equality.

Inspiring Others in her Field

Nancy’s break into the social media and modeling industry came with many learning lessons that she’s now hoping to pass down to others who share similar dreams. That’s why her best piece of advice to other aspiring models, influencers, and YouTubers is to simply believe in themselves.

“Don’t worry about the trolls on social media calling you fat, skinny, or ugly,” advises Nancy. “They will always find something to say. Don’t compare yourself to anyone. Ignore the hate, the copycats- keep going, and never stop. Just like Rihanna said, ‘people are going to talk whether you’re doing bad or good.’”

Nancy says her biggest success throughout her career thus far has been inspiring young models of ethnicity to chase their dreams.

A Great Mother, Daughter, and Wife

While the glitz and glam of her industry are undeniably great, Nancy wants to be admired and appreciated by her family above all else. She never lets the temptations and distractions of the busy social media and modeling world pull her away from her responsibilities of being a mother, which she is always proud and passionate about. Having struggled financially before becoming the social media mogul she is today, Nancy, “wants to make it easier for her kids.”
