With young immigrant entrepreneurs like Gregory Grishayev becoming successful by working hard and having a vision it feels the American dream is still alive. The successful entrepreneur’s family faced religious persecution and poverty in politically war-torn eastern Europe, thus the family migrated to the states in 1992. By 1999, they all were US citizens.
Gregory started working early in life. He didn’t study any further once he graduated from New Utrecht high school. At 18, partnering with his best friend Michael Tolmach, Gregory started his 1st online venture of selling clothing on eBay. He worked for four years in the same and eventually left it as the clothing market saturated.
During a trip to Miami Florida the entrepreneur witnessed a competing vaping brand and got interested in doing business in the field. His bestfriend Tolmach again partnered with him to bring this new venture to reality. They used their saved money and all the knowledge about the industry to find a vaping factory to develop their first branded vaping product. By 2010 their new company- Eonsmoke came into existence.
The products of Eonsmoke found many takers and by 2013 the company made $9.5 million in revenue. Oblivious to the technological shifts within the vaping industry, the two young businessmen wondered why people are not interested in their vaping devices. Gregory then let Eonsmoke operate as a zombie business and retired from it to start Hoverboards and light up shoes ventures.
It took him a while to realize that technology shift led to Eonsmoke’s sales crush. Grishayev and Tolmach then redesigned the brand according to market advancement which eventually increased the revenues. The duo have further moved to the non regulated business of sunglasses next- Purpyle that delivers a premium pair of sunglasses at affordable costs.
