Freddy, The world’s tallest dog dies at age 8

Guinness World Record’s tallest dog of the world named Freddy has died.
A Great Dane breed lived in Essex, England, with his owner Claire Stoneman. He was dignified 103.5 cm (3 feet and 4 inches) from the foot to withers (or the highest spot on a dog’s back).
He leaned over people at a massive 226 cm ( 7 feet and 5.5 inches) tall when standing.
Freddy stood someplace in between NBA greats LeBron James and Shaquille O’Neal Height-wise.

The dog was aged eight and a half years old, Guinness World Record said on Wednesday. Great Danes mostly live between eight to 10 years, according to the American Kennel Club.

“He was my life, my reason, my joy,” Claire Stoneman told the record book. He was not just the tallest dog but the dog with the most love and the biggest heart.

Stoneman, who said she had accepted him weeks earlier than required, Freddy was once the smallest of his litter and couldn’t even feed off his mom.
“Freddy was such a gentle giant, and it was always a pleasure to see him jumping towards you,” editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records’ Craig Glenday stated.
Everyone will miss Freddy at Guinness World Records and brought a smile to everyone’s face. Moreover, I’m just happy that we got the chance to commemorate his record-breaking immensity in the books. And, share his story with millions of people around the world” he added.

“Fighting the tears that won’t stop falling,” but finds comfort in knowing how much Freddy was loved” Stoneman later posted in a Facebook post.
