Pakistan’s Ex Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam was arrested in London in money laundering case when she was visiting Sharif in jail. She was questioned by the police and the anti-corruption agency officials on July 31st. This is in connection with money laundering & income beyond means charges against her & her family.
Her father is already serving a 7 years’ imprisonment in 3 corruption cases at Kot Lakhpat Jail since 24th December. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) said, “We have arrested Maryam Nawaz in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case as she was facing money laundering and income beyond means.” Maryam was given a questionnaire based on 6 questions in CSM case which she was due to answer in a day but she had excused herself from appearing before NAB & went to visit her father in jail. NAB officials reached jail & detained her.
Maryam’s arrest comes after she accused Pakistan PM Imran Khan of Kashmir’s fall and demanded his registration for the same. She has been challenging the military establishment for making Imran Khan Government through a stolen mandate.
