Doctors Turn Back Hands of Time with Cutting-edge Treatments

The fountain of youth might be just a myth, but the doctors at New Jersey-based The Youth Fountain have found that the right combination of cutting-edge and wellness treatments can bring real rejuvenation to their patients.

“Looking younger starts from the inside,” says board-certified surgeon Dr. Emil Shakov, who started the Freehold-based practice in 2013 and was later joined by his wife, Dr. Rada Shakov, in 2015. “Our experience has been that feeling younger is just as important as looking younger.”

This philosophy has guided the two doctors throughout their careers and has led them to offer both aesthetic treatments alongside comprehensive weight loss and wellness programs. That is why the practice’s goal isn’t just to help patients look younger, but to make a positive impact in their lives.

“We offer so much more than making you look younger; we help patients feel younger with our weight loss program and bioidentical hormone replacement,” says Dr. Emil Shakov. “Nothing makes us happier than when a patient shares with us their stories about how their lives have changed.”

The Youth Fountain delivers a combination of medical grade chemical peels and laser treatments to treat facial spots and discoloration, acne, fine lines, wrinkles, scars, and skin tone and texture issues. The practice also offers Laser Vein Treatment to shrink unwanted veins, along with cutting-edge cosmetic lasers for skin rejuvenation, skin tightening, hair reduction, vascular and pigmented lesions, cellulite reduction and body circumference treatments with the CoolSculpting, truSculpt iD, and EmSculpt.

But that’s just scratching the surface. The practice specializes in non-surgical weight loss programs, hormone replacement, IV therapies, and other internally-focused rejuvenation treatments.

The two doctors draw heavily on their medical backgrounds to deliver their wide range of services. Dr. Emil Shakov completed his general surgery residency at Seton Hall School of Medicine and followed by fellowship training in Advanced GI, Bariatrics, and Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS), and then furthered his education at The American Academy of Procedural Medicine and The American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine where he mastered aesthetic procedures, anti-aging, and medical weight-loss. Dr. Rada Shakov completed her medical residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, located in Paterson, NJ, which was part of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She went on to complete her Gastroenterology Fellowship through Seton Hall University at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center and St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, NJ. She furthered her training at The American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine.

“When we met, we discovered we both shared a passion for changing lives and providing high quality aesthetics, weight loss, and skincare services to our clients,” said Dr. Rada Shakov. “With our combined experience and unmistakable passion, we are living our dreams every day seeing the smiles on our clients faces after they leave our office.”

Dr. Emil Shakov is also an entrepreneur, founding the New Jersey Hair Restoration Center, a specialized unit of The Youth Fountain. This unit delivers cutting-edge hair restoration services such as follicular unit extraction (FUE), follicular unit transplant (FUT), platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the new PepFactor treatment. With his extensive background in aesthetic surgery, Dr. Emil Shakov has become one of the region’s leading experts on hair restoration and transplantation.

“We have a laser-like focus on helping patients look and feel great,” says Dr. Emil Shakov. “We might not be able to literally make people younger, but our treatments have given patients a new sense of themselves that many haven’t seen in years, sometimes decades.”

“It’s like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly in many cases,” adds Dr. Rada Shakov. “It’s a true pleasure to help patients find a new level of self-love and confidence.”
