Astrofit Gym, a TripleOne Company, is Making Fitness App

Astrofit’s World App is your very own personal trainer in your pocket.

To say that the world has changed in the wake of COVID-19 is an understatement. The pandemic has radically transformed our lives in every way from how we work to how we socialise. As governments grappled with what essential services were allowed to stay open, it may not necessarily have reflected everyone’s priorities. This was especially so for those whose daily routine includes going to the gym – not just for vanity’s sake but as a way to manage stress and reap health benefits.

With gyms shuttered in Quebec for months, the fitness routines of many grounded to a halt.  Technology stepped in to fill this gap and Zoom, YouTube, Instagram or Facebook have been buzzing with classes catering to those missing their gym fix. While these are great, like a bespoke suit or couture gown that fits like a glove, a personal trainer that customises your gym programme according to your fitness levels is a far more effective way to reach your goals.

Since 2018, Astrofit Gym has been offering clients in Blainville and Montreal their take on fitness where their trainers build relationships based on trust, respect and empathy and are invested in their client’s highly individual fitness journeys. With both parties working towards a goal from a place of mutual understanding, admitting mishaps or revealing discomfort becomes less intimidating. It also allows trainers to adjust something quickly that is not showing results, therefore minimizing damage.

In line with this highly personalized approach, Astrofit has announced the newest addition to their personal training services, the Astrofit World App, which is slated for release in the coming weeks. The app is Astrofit’s response to helping house-bound clients without access to fitness centres no matter where they are and Astrofit wants app users to benefit from their trainer’s motivation through their smart device.

If one is skeptical about the efficacy of apps, a study published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research has found that fitness apps absolutely do promote positive behavioral changes. Apps help by making it easier for users to overcome “barriers to exercise” like procrastination and lack of motivation. However while apps may modify behavior, further research by UBC Okanagan’s School of Health and Exercise Sciences found that fitness apps are especially effective when they’re personalized to the user. When features include things like training goals, specialized diets or contact with “real live trainers,” people are more motivated to work out more consistently.

Version 1.0 of Astrofit World includes live training sessions with an Astrofit Personal Trainer, where users from around the world will have the opportunity to interact with their trainer and follow daily live workouts with them. These live workouts will be personalized to the client’s needs, based on their goals and physical capacities. The app will be launching with monthly subscriptions to the app’s workout guides, live training, nutrition guides, and much more!

“The main goal of the app is to give people who can’t commute to the gym a chance to get Astrofit-like results from home. Our coaches are known for their knowledge and drive to motivate clients during a workout, which is what we’re going to bring people at home through the app,” enthuses Sarah Anton, President of Astrofit..

As we continue to adapt our daily lives to the new normal, the Astrofit World app gives users the freedom to choose how they want to steer their fitness journey with the benefit of a personalized programme 24/7 and a one-on-one relationship with a dedicated trainer – all from the convenience of their smart device.
