TAIPEI, TAIWAN – Taiwanese authorities are facing growing scrutiny after failing to take any action against Victor Chang (張崗麟)—a known drug trafficker who recently flew from Taipei to Penghu aboard an EVA Air aircraft.
Despite public recordings of Chang admitting to using women to transport drugs on his behalf, no official agency has responded, investigated, or detained him.
The image of Chang standing beside the EVA Air aircraft, which he posted on his Instagram story, sparked widespread concern earlier this week. That concern has intensified as it was confirmed he completed the domestic flight, all while recorded evidence of his criminal activity remains publicly accessible.
A recording dated October 27, 2023, captures Chang clearly stating that a woman “held and delivered” his drugs for him — a direct admission related to drug trafficking operations.
So far, no statements have been issued by the Ministry of Transportation, the National Immigration Agency, or EVA Air. Chang continues to move freely within Taiwan, with no reported restrictions.
“The evidence is there. The man is not hiding,” said one observer. “The question now is this: Will Taiwan finally do something — or let a drug trafficker walk free on their soil?”
The public now wonders why authorities have yet to take action, especially given the existence of a leaked audio confession. As attention on the case grows, many are calling for clarity and accountability from the agencies involved.
