HungryPanda is Working to End Homesickness of the Overseas Chinese During the Chinese New Year

HungryPanda, a global food delivery platform for the Chinese people, has introduced many online activities for Chinese customers living abroad. Since the Chinese New Year Festival month already started on 18th January, many online activities are being introduced by HungryPanda to end the homesickness of the overseas Chinese people during the Chinese new year.

During the pandemic, HungryPanda is making efforts to ease the homesickness of overseas Chinese people. The food delivery giant has provided supermarket sales and half-price groceries and even launched online activities for the Chinese people.

Activities such as “What is Your Favorite Restaurant” and the 2021 New Year’s Wish Pool are introduced by it to give everyone a bonus on a New Year. HungryPanda has also tied up with Chinese restaurants for offering New Year’s Eve dinner sets and customized reunion dinners to help overseas Chinese enjoy the original Chinese New Year on February 12.

Published 2020 Chinese Food Popular Trends Report

In its published 2020 report, HungryPanda has highlighted many popular trends in Chinese food. According to HungryPanda, the global online food delivery market witnessed a 27% year-on-year boom in 2020. And it is predicted to grow with a minimum rate of 15% in 2021.

HungryPanda witnessed immense growth in 2020 in different parts of the world due to its great efforts. In Australia, the global Chinese food delivery service saw a whopping 383% increase in comparison to 2019. In Sydney, it accounted for 45% growth due to its expert strategies.

In the US, an increase of 600% in its total order was witnessed due to the expansion in new market domains. New York saw a total of 40% orders for Chinese food in 2020. The UK witnessed a boom of 36% and London recorded more than 25% of total orders.

Preference for High-Quality Food Among Customers

Customers are choosing high-quality Asian food items overseas and they prefer authentic street food dishes. Eric Liu, the founder, and CEO of HungryPanda has said that Australian customers like to eat fried dishes such as meat porridge, vermicelli soup, youtiao (fried dough), tea egg, etc.

As per the 2020 report published by HungryPanda, the US customers spent 2 thousand USD for buying mooncakes. And it was the highest-paid money for an order in the China mid-autumn festival in the US. Spicy food items namely, Haidilao hotpot, ma la Xiang Guo, and steamed chicken with chili sauce.

In Canada, people had soup dishes with pork bone soup, beef soup, and ma la tang. HungryPanda has tried to satisfy the hunger of the overseas Chinese people during the pandemic to end their homesickness.

In the report of the most popular trends of 2020, HungryPanda has mentioned that the United Kingdom people ordered spicy food and steamed chicken with chili sauce, spicy Sichuan food namely yuxiang shredded pork, kung pao chicken, & boiled beef. New Zealand and French people went for Chuan and they chose meat or vegetables roasted on skewers with a match of beers & milk tea.

Efforts to Please Customers 

HungryPanda made an upgrade of the app version from 1.0 to 3.0 on the 1st of December 2020 with many improvements in it. In the new version, features such as optimized interface design, richer page categories, optimized loading speed, personalized display as per different regions, and more functional modules were included.

HungryPanda head, Eric Liu, has expressed that the company considers the customer demand as its top priority. Therefore, it has always focused on its improvement to boost its brand value to provide exceptional services to clients. He has said that the company makes efforts to bridge the gap between Chinese communities and traditional Chinese food by keeping in mind the health & safety of customers.
